Shinkansen (bullet train models)

I am not sure the best forum to post this in so I am posting here as a safe option.

I am traveling in Japan and have always been fascinated by the Shinkansen, and having a two year old I am always in book stores looking at books on trains and planes. So many great designs, and so many variants of each train in terms of artwork.

Does anyone know if there are some Shinnansen models out there? I will get the Canon model as I have come across it before. I will also be checking the major bookstores for paper models while I am here and will advise if I turn up anything interesting!

Have a great day

There are several models at different skill levels of those trains. Just do an internet search of Shinkansen paper model or papercraft and you should get a bunch of results

Not paper but no doubt you have seen some of the great diecast Shinkansen that are available there, but if not check out the toy and hobby floor at a place like Yodobashi Camera or Bic Camera or in a department store. They cost from about ¥1000. I got one after riding on the shinkansen.

I have noticed some really nice diecast models here; I will check them out even if as a reference for a bigger paper model at some point.

I have a huge new shopping center nearby in Osaka - Expo City, so perhaps I will find something interesting. They have a huge Tsutaia, a major bookstore competitor here, so I am thinking I might find something interesting lurking g if I search for. books on papercraft as I have seen suggested to look for Japanese paper models online.
