Also, the ICF coaches are a little shorter than the LHB coaches in length

Aero, the file did not attach when you uploaded it. Please try again, paying particular attention to instructions and prompts. Thanks!

Hi Aero - good progress!

What is the scale?

Have you considered 1/250? I think your models would lend themselves to this scale, which is nice as you do not need a lot of space to display short rakes and lots of coaches.

I think your models would be easy to convert......

Here is an example of a 1/250 tram I made which gives you an idea of what is possible in this scale.

Prague Lubricating Tram in 1/250

Also, one of the important things about railway models this size is that you do not have to cut out lots of wheels!

Hi Elliot - your earlier post refers.

Nope, I have not lived in India. Though I would liked to have.

Since I was little though I have been fascinated with Indian Railways and their history - it is a vast subject, with still lots of areas to research and books to be written. I also have Indian friends with rail connections.

One day maybe I will get there!

And as you say, the railways and history there is indeed a fascinating subject. One of my more specific areas of interest has also been railway gauges (the reason for, how etc) and I have written a few articles on this for magazines in the past.

India alone has currently 4 gauges to speak of, although they are trying hard to rationalize. In the past, they had many more. The engineering reasons behind the gauge choices is interesting, as were/are the methods used in Indian to cope with all the plethora of gauges and the resulting complexity.

A friend of mine in India did what I would have thought was impossible - he produced an atlas of Indian Railways in detail, which also included all the gauges. The fact also is that he is a very talented graphics artist - I doubt that anyone without this background (and a love of trains) would have been able to do the job as elegantly and competently as he did!
