T-3 / Modelik / 1/25

1 – For my first venture into this section of the forum, I choose Modelik’s T-3 steam locomotive. In general, I find Modelik’s detail level on train subjects to be a good compromise. They make up fine models without having a zillion parts. The T-3 kit has 1289 parts, not counting the rivets that I usually add.
The first pictures show the kit – cover, assembly drawings and 9 A-3 pages with the parts. One of them is b&w, in very thin paper.

Thanks Johnny! Welcome aboard

The leaf springs are a good start. They are easy to make and take a good number of parts. Note the two sizes. The leaf springs for the rear axle are positioned below, as you’ll see later.

Thanks for the comments
The pictures show the largest frame parts. The rivets were cut in red card, in order to spare the tedious work of painting the edges. Gluing the rivets is rather boring but it is easy and relatively quick, apart from making the model prettier.

The rivet work is really helping make it, they look wonderful.
Tedious, I’m sure, but the finished build will look so good!

Ha, nice! You're into trains as well. Interesting model, Ricardo!
