My mistake, it was John Burton who had the Micromodel CDs for sale.
His site was on Tiscali and has since closed down, along with lot of oher sites. It is possible that you could contact him via modeltechnics.com which is where he had an email postbox presence.

Another possible place to look for more modern steam would be RXR models who offer somewhat basic models of a Santa-Fe-style Pacific and Northern, and a UP Big Boy. I'm not sure what scale they're supposed to be, and they're a bit light on details, but they would fit in the time frame you're looking for.
