But given they were retired and scrapped in early 1900s neither would have remained in either its original detail configuration or colors.
Or maybe even had acquired entirely new boilers and/or frames.

In fact they could have been like some legendary farm tool which is the same one great-great-great-great granddad made and in all these centuries it's only had 3 new heads and 5 new handles.

Parts 63 -72

First though: part 33, the middle boiler support caused the boiler to sit at an angle. I had to grind it down to get the boiler to sit level and properly at all supports and attachment points.

Part 63 were the boiler bands. These strips cleverly hide all the joints of the boiler sections.

Parts 64 through 67 are the boiler front parts. Tricky to line everything up right. A few positioning marks would have helped here.

Part 68 is another boiler support. No issues.

Part 69 is the stack. Quite complex. Lining parts up was a challenge. I ended up painting some of the placement markings on the main stack tube so I could orient it correctly in the boiler.

Part 70 is the sand dome. I really dislike petals. These did turn out good though.

Part 71 is the other dome (steam?). These petals sucked more than the sand dome ones. Just saying.

Part 72 cow catcher.

Took me two evenings to get this all built up. Fit was great, just lots and lots of parts. Had to break out the bright blue craft paint to cover all the white/gray edges.

Part 73 placards

Just a placard for each side added to the valve and piston area. It says "Schenectady Locomotive Works", the builders of the original locomotive.

That is a wonderful cow catcher. When I did the Wanderer look-alike, I spent more time on the cow catcher than all the rest of the design and build, so that is one element I really like to see well done

Parts 74 - 83

Parts 74 through 80 consists of the valving on both sides of the boiler. Some of this was quite fiddly, but it all fit well in the end. The left rear assembly has a placard that betrays this as a model of the current full size replica in Utah.

Part 81 is the door to the firebox. The chain anchor is marked as optional and there is no dedicated location on the back of the boiler. There are also no diagrams showing chain link size or length.

Part 82 is the boiler support assembly at the rear. Glad I fixed the middle support height by grinding it down earlier.

Parts 83 are the black tabs extending out the sides of the boiler. They are .5 mm too thick because I had lamination star dyslexia. Therefore, all are a tight fit w/o glue.

Parts 84 - 99

Sorry about delaying this update. Had to help my brother move back to PA and that has impacted my progress and ensuing updates herein.

Also, I have lost track a bit on what parts are what.

The back end of the boiler has some detail added. No real issues with fit.

Some linkage between the drive cylinders was added. Crossbar pattern seemed a touch short, but I made it work.

Cab floors were part 90. Other than a challenge to cut out cleanly, no issues.

Front cab wall built up very nicely. The window frame was slightly thicker than the guide track due to the thickness of the clear film added to the frame assembly. The doors were a tight fit as well but still remain openable if desired.
