Billy, I admire you skill, a clean build. I wanted to ask a basic question regarding laser cut parts. Do you cut the colored sheet and attach to the laser frame or does the laser frame replace the printed kit parts. It seems as thought folks are cutting out the frame members and attaching them to the laser set however the wheels are used without the printed page. I have the Modelik Jupiter and am waiting for the laser set. Retirement is one year away and I want this to be my celebatory build after retirement. Will be watching your build intently your skills are well known and a loco build is exciting to watch.

Thanks John

Hello John,
Although there are no instructions, I use the original parts for the frame, cutting them out and glueing them to the laser-parts. these are really accurate, and I trim the original parts to fit the laser-cuts when necessary.
All those parts are indicated they should be re-enforced
The parts for the wheels are replaced by laser-parts .
It's not necessary to double up the formers for the inside of boiler
I'm specially pleased with the nuts from Avant-card,
AvantCard - Home ,they save me a lot of boring work, actually I think it is strange they are not included in the laser-cut parts

Did a little work on the chasis, I think this is the most complicated model i ever did, but I like it,still thousends of parts to go, the most time I spend is looking for the right part in the 50 page book, there seems to be no plan in that, and when I find the part, I have to find the laser cut part that belongs to it :p
I'm using an airbrush to age the model..

Did the wheels today, bit of a puzzle, because there are no instructions with the lasercuts

Holy mackerel! Billy, you are one of the few people that I know who would pick out something that most folks would consider a daunting task as a relaxing interlude between stages of a more complicated build. Between you and Adam working on these locomotives you guys are getting my juices stirring.

This is amazing work, Billy. I am equally impressed with your paper model craftsmanship and your deft work with the airbrush.

Hello Billy Great work When I looked at your work, I remember when I've been working with my wheels... I really enjoy your photo relation. If you will need (hope not) any help with wheels (they are really tricky...), you can always count on me In my model breaks where design in a wrong way. One of polish modelers made a design of the new brakes, so they fit perfectly. You can download those brakes for free, but wheels has to be exactly the same size as mine. When you finish wheels, made one of the original brakes and look if fit to the wheel (in my model brakes where to big). If not, send me priv, so I'll send you link to those improved brakes
Good luck!

Again you pulled out a winner to build. I am too, am a Big Fan of Avant Laser Cut, he is a good guy to deal with. Now back to this wonderful build. I have built mostly ships and again am a fan of Angraf, I have a Ty2, E92 w/laser cut wheels and PE, and a Famo. I believe that Angraf is in a league all their own when it comes to Locomotives. I am really enjoying your skill @ construction, the airbrushing looks great. I will surely watch this masterpiece come together in your talented hands.
