Nursing Home Display Sept/Oct
Okay, Paper Trains is about to the midpoint. All of the models on the bottom shelf will be from the Tweetsie Railroad site, tweetsie.com/kidz-zone/paper-train/
Top shelf will be nicer models, primarily from Kaukapedia, www.kaukapedia.com/index.php?title=Bastelbogen:_Oldtimer-Lokomotive The Adler from www.olis-bahnwelt.de/basteln/basteln-lok-adler will also be included, and possibly an Australian locomotive. As the bottom shelf was meant to be 'busy', I printed everything at 73% and did enough to fill things up.

Nice! Your building speed must be set on zoom to get that much done in such a relatively short time VK. I thought about Tweetsie when you first posted your thoughts about doing trains for the fall. There's enough whimsy in the models that the folks at the home should really get a bang out of them.

Turning out very good so far. The display will give them lots to look at and probably bring back some memories of childhood.

have you thought about adding that Borden Dairy train?
I think one of our members was working on it

The Tweetsie trains and building facades are very simple models. Three to four in an evening is very do-able. There are some tab issues that I discovered on my first loco build, so I spent more time doing Gimp work to fix those on the other locos. Also did some recolors on the passenger cars.
I had to re-think the project for the top shelf half-way through these guys. Each of these trains exist. So the Kids Nifty train and the Borden train got taken out of the proposed builds. I'm sticking to 'real' trains now. Though sometime I might come back to some of the others.

Taking longer than I thought
Finished two models this week for the top shelf, the Adler and the Virginia
The Adler is the Olis Bahnwelt model. Not built 'straight' as several of the parts are not exactly right and many of the tabs could have been placed better. I wish I'd looked at it better before I printed it. A little work beforehand would have made this a pretty nice model. The Virginia is from the Fix-n-Foxi site. A little guesswork involved. I still may do some interior work on it, but probably not until I get it back from the nursing home. I still have five more engines to do before Labor Day ... But the goal of having a colorful display of 'old-timey' trains should be met with these rather simple models

I stand corrected. Wouldn't life be boring if we were all infallible?
I actually won't have room for it in the display case. On the top shelf, the Adler will go across the front and the six Fix-n-Foxi Oldtimer Lokomotives will be along the back with their noses pointed towards the center of the front glass. That's about all the room I have to work with.

The Genoa is done and I've clear-coated the J.K. Bowker.
Here's where I'm at so far

JW Bowker done. Next up is the Reno. I really do like the art on these, and they look nice as a group.
Took a little break from trains. Christina's birthday is next week and she likes ducks
