Could we maybe persuade the Master (Gary) to give us a quck start guide as I'm sure there are lots of us who would love to design their own, but just don't know how to start .....

Yeah, I pm'd him with just that question, "how would you go about starting a project like this?" but he hasn't got back to me yet. I made a few breakthroughs in my model though...I figured out that the reason it wasn't unfolding right in Pepakura was because in Meta I had a whole bunch of messed up faces. I just deleted them and replaced them with new ones and it fixed it right up. So it's starting to move a little faster now that I have successfully unfolded a piece in Pepakura.

What program are you using for the 3D modeling before you move it to Pepakura Steve? You mention 'Meta', what is it's full name?

I am using Metasequoia LE 2.4. It says that it is the freeware limited version, but it seems to me to have all the features I need.

Thanks Steve, I've downloaded the LE version so now I'll have a play with it and see what I can with some simple shapes to start with.

As inexperienced as I am with paper model design, I am *fairly* experienced using Metasequoia (made some flight sim aircraft with it a long time ago). So if you need help me or someone else will help you.

Here is what I have so far: I designed the formers and 90% of the outer "skin" for the stock. Someone can test build this for me if they like, it should be done by tomorrow. I'll start a thread in the beta builders section. I am surprised how good it's actually coming out!
