Hmm.....that would look great in our wargames room......I must resist. I'd have to be able to retire and not talk to anyone again to get that one done!

An amazing model! Never seen it before - if I had I probably would have snapped up a copy!

(Heavy sigh ....)
It has been at least 26 years since I used to fly the Dakota/C-47/DC-3 (yes, I flew both military and civilian versions) around Africa. A great old aircraft that was a pleasure to operate once you got used to the large tail-dragger configuration. It certainly developed one's respect for gusty crosswind operations - you had to be lively with the rudder!

My dad was a USAF crew chief/co-pilot/engine mechanic on the old Gooney Bird back in the day. He had a profound reverence for that airplane, too.

Is Reuben going to create other liveries like he did for the Trimotor?

I have three huge walls on which to mount this thing!
Three huge walls? What about upscaling the model?

This is to prove that I have not forget this project. It is still going.

The Alan Rose DC-3-new_test_for_grey_parts.jpg

I tried a new gray gradient. Will see how it works.

Hopefully I'll continue with this very soon.

I'd say: Testing succeeded!
Result: Perfect!

Just caught up with this thread. Wow! Not sure if it would be one I would ever do, but still will be interested in following it. I have Mr. Rose's San Francisco Cable Car that I hope to get to some day.
