Repaint of Oddball A12 Shrike

This is a repaint of Arron's Fiddlers Green A12 Shrike. The colors for the plane are from a model I found on Google Images, so I hope they are accurate. The glazing is transparency film. I enhanced the engine a little and redesigned the 30 caliber machine gun.

Thanks for showing us this excellent model. I'm always glad to see models of Republic of China Air Force aircraft.

I can't verify the accuracy of the colors and markings, but they look plausible. The only photographic image I have found so far is of an A-12 in natural metal finish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ROCAF_Curtiss_A-12.jpg

The Wikipedia article on the development of the Republic of China Air Force, the A-12s served with the 26th and 27th Squadrons of the 9th Fighter Group.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Develop...937%E2%80%9345)

An article in the Combined Fleet website indicates that the A-12 was used in combat and engaged IJN D1A2 dive bombers near Hangchow on 17 August 1937, killing the gunner in one of them. I have seen other source, that I can't put my finger on just now, that say that the Chinese fliers downed one or more of the Japanese aircraft. The authors of the Combined Fleet article do not provide a source for their information.
Bob Hackett, Sander Kingsepp and Anthony Tully, RISING STORM - THE IMPERIAL JAPANESE NAVY AND CHINA 1931-1941, available at http://www.combinedfleet.com/Marco_t.htm (accessed 1 February 2014).

Any more ROCAF models under construction in your workshop?

Beautiful work, and fantastic re-color. I sure hope that you will submit this one to Aaron, so that the rest of us can purchase it.
