Thanks YB and Don.................. YB I'll check but I do know that 98 Navy birds didn't make it back to the ship during the war.

Also several squadrons made 3 or more tours with the Corsair II and that 27 different squadrons used the SLUF, but I'm not sure how many did a tour with it. I'll do some checking.

Weird Note......... during it's entire tour in Nam the Corsair II did not account for an enemy air to air kill.......... but it did shoot down another Corsair ........

Sorry Elliott............ my reference only stated that it happened, not how or why. But I'll go back through them and see if there any more to it......... I do remember it was VA-56 Squadron that was involved.
