I don't necessarily think they are antenna. Antenna usually are not painted.

They look like some type of handle, or perhaps a guard to keep someone
from stepping in front of the intake?

Also, possibly a weight to counter the lack of the nose guns.

Those are not antennas. Those are handles for maneuvering aircraft on the ground by hand.CM 170 is a relatively light machine and can be easily moved around by two people.

I did not find anything to explain those loops, they do look like handles to move the aircraft around on the ground, but I did find a direct link the the flight manual on one of the Google search result pages.

VOR antennas apparently. French Fougas got them around 1970.

Most VOR antenna of the "towel rack" type, are more rectangular. And usually
only one is mounted on an aircraft.

Key word, usually.

You guys are right-this is an antenna I found this

I have seen pictures and videos of Fougas being moved around and those antennas are used by ground crews as handles. Not to mention they are sometimes marked in such they can be mistaken for handles ,sort of like here:

I guess manual is one thing, life is something else.

Thanks guys...........got Yoav's Magister vectored. Now I've got to figure what recolor(s) I want to do.

Suggestions are solicited, but not guaranteed accepted for recoloring...........

Oh I have notices some CM. 170 R's have had the antennas removed, as visible by cover plates in the skin area, some have never had these installed, as shown by absence of said cover plates and a smooth skin.

Were you planning on converting Yoavs Magister to French production standard or did you have something else in mind?

I was hoping to do one of the Finnish silver/aluminum / grey Magisterial but I can't even find a good description of stencils on them. Nobody does CM 170 in 1/48 scale so decals are all in 1/72 only and they are unreadable.
