What a beautiful airplane and model, John!

The Norseman is one of those airplanes that just looks right - like the Lockheed Vega, the Howard DGA-6 and its successors, and the DHC Beaver.

Still at it

Just to let you know I haven't given up on this. Hope to have it complete enough for pics to Aaron by the weekend.

John
That looks like off-brand, but I'd never thought of that use for Legos... now you've really got me thinking.

In this particular context, does the yellow paint job indicate a trainer, rescue vehicle or something else ?

Your usual precise craftsmanship, John.

I'm saving the image for inspiration and guidance when I attempt to build the Glenn Miller UC-64A.

Yellow context

My understanding is that the RAF (and hence the RCAF of that day) chose yellow for high visibility work. Therefore, "trainer yellow" in the busy training environment, and for the underside of prototypes for better visibility from the ground. The RCAF also continued the practice for SAR (search and rescue) aircraft where multiple aircraft that may be in search efforts can see each other, and where it is easier to see downed aircraft in northern and bush environments.

And besides, it is my favorite colour for aircraft .

John

Beta done

Ok, I think it is done enough for the beta. Could still add thin music wire for tail bracing wires, ski limit wires, and steps on fuselage side and cowl, but I think you get the idea. Final pdf which also includes ski option to Aaron soon.

Thanks for comments and support.
