Virtually every picture I've ever seen of this class of ship showed at least one, and usually several of the 90mm flak guns behaving "independently." I would speculate that this showed that the crew of those particular weapons were practicing or drilling with their weapons.

What a fantastic build! And the pictures are phenomenal! I especially like the ones looking straight down at the top. What detail!

By the way, based on your write-up I put the book drill on my Christmas list (far in the future). My wife surprised me with it for Fathers Day! It really is a well-made tool and works just as you said.

BTW, Happy Fathers Day to all of you dad’s!
