Quite a relatively simply yet effective technique, quite convincing!

Just curious what that silicon material is that you used...not sure what our equivalent would be on this side of the pond, but is it liquid which then dries, or is it a bit more vicous/thicker?

It´s construction silicone. In Germany you get it in every home-improvement market - even coloured. The construction silicone is a thick paste in a plastic tube. You also need a tool device for pressing the silicone out of the tube. All together it costs some 5,- US-$ in a home-improvement market.
