Looking very good, and glad you added those 3d details to replace the 2d printed parts, makes a world of difference to the final build.
She is coming along quite well, and you are doing a superb job of it! A pleasure to watch this come together. Cheers! Jim |

Hallo, here comes the very next update ..
the next building block is the command bridge section - I did not finish this module yet but started with the middle section which is depicted in the first slide. As usual I added some parts which are only printed. Two plattforms are located on this section hosting the ESM - so have a look at the next two slides. The next slide shows two devices I dont know what they are used for - I'm not an expert in accessoirs - followed by a slide which show their position "on deck". The last slide depicts one part of the railing - the upper section shows the design part, the lower section the implementation. Klaus @Mike : yes sir - one step closer to the very end @Jim : thank you, Jim, you are a good tutor. @Marco : I'm watching your thread building the light crusier. You are doing a very good job. For me the scale 1:400 is too hard to implement - its too tiny. |

Hallo again
Wilfried, its a pleasure for me to read your lyrics - thanx - the vessel is not finished yet and there are still many parts to redesign and redraw. Today I've finished the module with the remaining parts, only two slides are available since the powerlevel of the battery of the digicam went down. Regards Klaus |

Hallo,
today I will report about the funnel assembly. The first slide shows, how the kit is implementing this module (left part) and as usual I tried to implement most of the "printed only" parts in an adequate (for me) manner - fotographs of the "real" ship show that I'm far away from reality but I'm reaching now my limits. The second silde depicts the solution for the roof (term correct ?) using LC-parts from a bavarian supplier (providing excellent quality for my needs). The supports should be fixed prior to integration (refer to red box). Slide three shows the assembly state without platforms and the parts for the heli hangar which are now under construction. Slide four shows a problem that I should have identified before I started with the ESM-platform module. As can easily be seen, the platform is to short - sh.. I'm looking now for a solution. By the way - it seems to me that there are many people watching this report - I hope you all like it. Regards Klaus |

Hello Klaus,
That final image truly shows the amount of work you have put into that superstructure. Excellent as always. Mike |

Hallo again, sorry for being late here with this update,
the first three slides show some platforms to be attached to the funnel. The lattice work for the forward directing platform is done in the same way as for the top steer radar reflector. Prior to fixing the platforms I completed the heli hangar and added some extras (slide 4 and 5). Slide 6 shows one of the two platforms for the Band Stand radar. The last 3 slides show the final assembly of the above mentioned elements. @Mike : thank you very much, you know, I like to implement details added by myself Regards Klaus (I'll be out for a few days) Happy Easter to all of you |

Servus,
next part of the superstructure is the Helihangarsupport deck. First slide shows some of the (already pre-assembled) parts as an overview. Assembly was started by fixing first the deck to the skeleton - top down approach is recommended since the length of the well walls is slightly longer as the overall height of the skeleton - but maybe I'm wrong and bottom up is also feasible ...(try it, folks). The two attachments are not yet fixed to the well walls - I'll have to check first the fit with the part below - last slide looks very promising. Regards from Klaus @Mike . thanks for upgrading my skills - be aware, I'm coming closer to your's |
