Tour of the Mikasa

I stumbled onto this by accident and found it very interesting. I was a little disappointed to learn there's nothing belowdecks but still a good impression of the only pre-dreadnought battleship still in existence.

Thanks for the link, Wayne.

I visited Mikasa a couple of times when I was stationed in Japan 1987-90. I'm glad this pre-dreadnought has been preserved.

I visited the Mikasa last year, and it is well worth a visit. Whilst under decks it is nothing like it was for the most part, there is still some original fittings to be seen, at the front and especially at the back, where the admiral's accommodation is preserved. It is very plush, with beautiful wooden fixtures and thick carpet, like you world expect to see in a Victorian era gentlemens club.
