As I'm making a Titanic too, I've read that the decks where pine, and so the color was a very clear yellow with a hint of green.

I love this model. I have a real ingerest in the titanic. This is a real testiment to her majisty. You did her proud. I havnt been around much because i am no longer able to do paper modeling. I am losing the use of my hands and cant cut anymore. So i have to live vicariosly through my fellow modelers. I have had an opportunity to help others though with some pointers so maybe i can still be useful. Thanks for such a beautiful project.

Tim, thank you for your kind words. I am sorry to hear that you cannot build anymore, but I'm glad you have enjoyed my model.

Yellow with a hint of green sounds more like poplar.

I've got a Titanic printed out, but I think it's beyond my skills at the moment. I'm more into space and rockets and have many of those built, but I want to have one of these queens of the ocean built sometime soon.

Nice build. Some years ago I changed the scale to 250 waterline and rebuilt the kit into the Olympic. But it was hard work studying the details from Beveridge literature and stuff. I had always wanted to build Titanic's sister. I chose the 1913 post-refit stage. A lot of lifeboats, collapsibles and rafts!
