Cannon Class Destroyer Escort - 1/1200

I was thinking the other day, what might be a good subject for a quick model to try to help me overcome my builder's block on the Montana Project. I've gotten to the point on the thing that I am just so frustrated with it that every time I look at it, I don't want to touch it. I know this will pass, because it always has, and I've come too far to stop now. The hard parts are all behind me, I think.

Anyway, I was randomly surfing the net, just clicking on links that grabbed my admittedly short attention span, and ended up with a link to a page about the USS Eldridge.

So, I made a model.

Here it is:

As you can see, it doesn't take much to amuse me.

I was going to do it on transparency sheets, but I couldn't find my stash of them, and so I just simplified. I might, if I find the transparency sheets, go on ahead and do the project the way I wanted to in the first place, just for kicks and grins.

I hope everyone gets it. If not, I'm sure someone will explain. If that doesn't happen, I will... :D

I love all the detail and air brush work. I never considered the build I couldnt find any photos of the Eldridge in that configuration. I had a set of pins for my sheets but I think they dried up.

I think the cannon thickness is correct to scale.
Are you going to add some weathering for a "in service" appearance?

Great build. Only constructive suggestion I could make would be to add a photo of the Philadelphia skyline to the back of the base.

(And don't worry about the slump. We all go through them.)

very good job...I always wished my models could look as clean and detailed as this one. Please post a tutorial on techniques you used to construct this.
