DigitalNavy USS Arizona V2

I had this laying around for some time now, and just decided, now is the time to build. So I got some things put together, and got the first 7 sheets laminated on to 1mm cardboard. The Hull structure is now taking form. It's an enormous build, and probably the biggest one I have ever done. But hopefully not the last.

I'm hoping to take pictures along the way and posting them here, but the build might take quite some time to finish, so don't be surprised if uploads will be spaced some time apart. :D

Well, here's the first picture or two. Enjoy.

Had a slow night, so I sat myself down and cut a few more pieces. Now the hul structure is almost done. Only need the support braces then I'm almost ready to go on with hul plating. I think it looks quite good already.

HI,

It looks like you are coming right along with the USS Arizona. Always nice when you get to where you can scan down the sides and see the graceful lines of the hull starting to form with the bulkheads and formers joined together.

Looking forward to more.

Looks good! I will wait patiently to see this one come together. I have drooled over the pictures of this on Digital Navy's site.... Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger and buy it! Good luck!

Will watch closely, I too have this version and I must admit, I am a bit daunted by the amount of work required to bring this master piece to life. Look forward this one.

Thank you guys.
I have also noted that it's a big project, but no matter what, I need to try this out. I have only built smaller papermodels before, so this is also a daunting task for me.

I have all of the cardboard pieces glued together now, so I'm ready to go on with the skin of the hul. That I'm gonna look forward to put on, it will be the difference from start, to something that looks like a ship. Pictures will come soon.
