I thought for some reason I had posted how awesome I thought this was when you first posted it. I must have forgotten to hit enter.

This is awesome. I look forward to it. There is a similar ship available, but it is kind of sucky. Yours won't be, because none of your stuff is. Confidence is high!!

Thank you so much everyone! I really appreciate the interest.

Don, it is entirely possible that she was present at the landing, although it is also true that a great many PCEs were transferred to the RVN in the 60s.

Jim, the PCE(R)s served primarily in the Pacific theater, although only a handful were built. Most of the Patrol Craft Escorts were straight up PCEs (which I will be doing eventually, although I have to recover from this project first...!) which had heavier AA armament and were closer to the Admirable AMs.

Thanks, Zathros! I really truly appreciate the confidence. The fact there is no really good model of the Admirables and their variants was one of the motivating factors for this build.

I have finished the build, and she will be turned over to her new owners this afternoon. She will be given to a veteran who served on her during the war, and as sad as I am to let her go (really, I didn't know it would be hard to do!) I am extremely proud that she will belong to someone who was a part of her history.

The build is far from perfect. One of the big things is the mast, which is too thin because I didn't have the right diameter styrene rod. It looks OK though. I'm just really glad to have her finished. I will now commence work on the instructions, and once those are done she will be released. This also means I can get back to working on Acklam Cross and White Holly. My next build will actually be something I haven't shared yet, but I know at least Jay will recognize her!

Well, she came out great, Avery!

Love the way she looks, and the mast looks fine to me. What size guns did they normally carry?

As always, looking forward to your next project.

Cheers!
Jim
