I'm wondering if there would be any point to Modelarstwo Okretowe releasing the models attached to its Special editions as standalones...? I've been tempted to but one or two that have interested me but, as much as I enjoy the images, in magazines the text is "greek' to me and the cost of the Special edition just for the models is probably more than I can justify domestically...

What Avery says above re copyright is correct as far as I can remember unless the copyright holder designed and thus holds the rights to the original...sometimes there is a clause regarding derivative works...

The whole idea with the plans of the Modelarstwo Okrętowe is that they have to redraw the drawings available on the internet and signed that they are plans for a Polish submarine ORP Jastrzab (Howk). Then he gave these drawings Strk, so he made them a model of the ship, in this case they have the right to do. I wish that the model appeared on ecardmodels.com. I suggested him to do the second model based on plans available on the Internet that everyone has access. In this case would be no question of any copyright.

Excellent looking model. Hopefully you can sway them, if not probably dont use their blueprints anymore, at least not when there are other good alternatives! I look forward to your others though I agree with them that I cant justify a subscription that I cant read :(

Thx for good words.

The question of copyrighted blueprints in case of Modelarstwo Okretowe is clear: blueprints attached to each issue have and will have a legal notice*: "any commercial use w/out author's permission is forbidden". And I didn't get the permission.
Of course I can refuse their point of view, but Editor in Chief just tell me: I can't stop You from releasing your model (i.e. in different camo) at e-card, but I trust You, and kindly ask You - don't do this**.

So, I can not let him down. It's a question of honesty.

And. If some of You decide to buy this model from Modelarstwo Okretowe, I will provide english How-To.

*is this a proper term?

**Editor in Chief provided these blueprints, used to design USS S-25

This is what I learn from co-op with Royal Navy FOST:
very satisfactory
satisfactory
just satisfactory
un-satisfactory
below standard

Achievieng v.sat is almost impossible. To not let to rest on laurels

Of course, but first, I have to prepare HowTo drawings and manual (partially done).

TH will be available at e-card only on A4 sheets.

Hull contonuation.

Yesterday I was working on the keel and bilge keels.

Both elements are not easy to glue: thin and long parts are very susceptible to deformations. Bottom part of the keel is glued onto 0.5mm cardboard to provide better fit and rigidity. Also I decided to glue inside a thin long stripe of 1mm cardboard: it created large join surface between hull and keel (I wanted to avoid edge-to-surface gluing), and allowed to avoid gaps. Except fancy petal-shaped ending (aftwards), final effect is "just sat."

Bilge keels. Glued step-by-step. These elements are a bit wider than they should be, to make the build easier (2mm vs 1mm)
