Update
Helo,
A little update for today. I covered the bottom. It is the very beginning of the bulding process. Only half of it is partially prepared for painting. But before painting, I'm going to add stripes of thin paper which should resemble the metal reinforcements of the hull. |

Very nice start to the original ship's class namesake. I am working on the Nagatsuki now and used balsa wood for my filler material. Looking forward to watching your Mutsuki come together.

Hi,
Today I have two photos for you. I made frames for windows and overlaps under the windows (sorry for the terminology if it is incorrect). It took me 20 min to make them. Unfortunately, the quality of photos is low but when I finish the hull I'll make the high-quality photos for you. |

Update
Today I present you the photos of the bottom with the stripes of paper I added. The quality of photos is still low because I borrowed my camera recently and, since then, I've been using a phone to make all my photos. But still, they can give you some idea how those stripes should look like.
P.S. Few minutes ago I painted the bottom and it looks fine I think I also have changed one of the ribs which is situated under the bow. I made a kind of compartment there which was drawn in the original part. |

Your methods for building the ships hull seem to be working out. It is
labor intensive but well worth the effort to achieve the desired outcome. Looking forward to your further updates.....Ron |

Update
Hi,
Very small update today. I'm still struggling with the model. Paper is a disaster:(. It splits when I try to round it. Today I show you the first step of making the side of the ship. I started from the aft. After a week of work the hull should be finished. I'm going to add traces of rust in places where the water flows off the deck. |

I had the same issue with Kiji when I built her. The port holes are looking great.

Hello again,
I need your help. Because the model of Mutsuki is very inaccurate (sides don't match - they are to short) I decaded to repaint it. I found out that the experymental way of painting was used in 1941 (I attached few photos). Unfortunatelly, I am not able to paint it proffessionally that way. My question is: Do you know if the dark grey color was ever used to paint Mutsuki (as it was in kase of her sister Yuzuki)? If not, I'll probably change the name of the ship to Yuzuki (1941) and add or change few parts. If you have any photos of Yuzuki (models, drawings, plans, etc.) I will be appreciated. Thank you for all your help. I stuck for now:-( |
