Ahoj!

WOW! Another skilled model maker from Czech!
Very clean and accurate work. Beautiful!

Can you explain a little bit how you made the planking (have you been using balsa?) and the amazing wooden-like painting? You can PM me also in Czech language, since I am from Poland, I can understand it.

Looking forward to see more!

Rgds,
Radek

I could explaint it in English, if you will have any questions we can discuse it in PM.

Deck was made from balsa wood. I cut about 4mm ribbon from 0.7mm. Then I cut it for 50mm peaces. Diameter depend on model.

After that I glue black knot around half of each peace. This peaces are glued to paper and added to deck.

If I made it now I woul does not use knot but paint edges with black marker. I test this method and joints looks much better because are tinner.

Wooden painting I make folow:
1st paint whole part by brown acrilic color I use light brown or beige for light wood. Collor is thinned to easy painting.
2nd paint small dots or strokes with darker brown and blured very quicly. This collor is thinned not too much. Critical par is only time of drying. You need time for bluring.
3rd It depands how I was good in 2. If wood looks dark I make wery light color, there is very much water. I use gold ochre. I paind whole part with this color.
Step 3 and sometime 2 I repeat until I am satisfied with result.

Sometime I use wood stain for finishing.

Your painting makes an amazing impression! Thanks for explaining.
Respect!!
I myself prefer oil paint, because it does not dry so quick. But therefore it takes about two days to dry and one cannot make as quick progress as wanted...

The planks on the hull looks like real wood, too. Are they painted carton/card or balsa, too?

I have seen deck planking with black paper in between the individual pieces. But the method with the black marker is very good, too (and not so complicated ).

Looking forward to see more of your masterwork!

Rgds,
Radek
