HMS Victorious

I have had this model in the collection forever it seems. Decided that it was time to put her in the dockyard.

Before even starting the ship, I went to the aircraft.
I had questions regarding the coloring shown on them. The green didn't strike me as being right. Blue and red were also off color. Register on the rondels wasn't that great either.

A little surfing on the internet brought the following images of the associated aircraft.
No green and blue on these aircraft.

Therefore I wanted to have my aircraft colored to match my internet finds, so I set about to recolor them in a paint program. The following sheet is the final result. I also put on better flags too and a few spinning props in case I want to have a few flight ready aircraft positioned on deck.

I also wanted to show a few aircraft with the wings in their stowed position. Pictures of the completed model show the Fulmar aircraft with their wings stowed incorrectly.

Marvelous! I see you actually changed all the reg numbers on each aircraft! When you print out the spinning props do you cut out the wedge sections? I 've seen them printed on clear discs. Good luck with her! 1/400 scale is just right for my growing fleet. I started out scratch building a DDE and then discovered JSC kits a little later, The fleet is now @7 Strong built with @ 70 in the to do list!

The model consists of 12 letter sized sheets (once you separate them).

Here's a few pictures from the Yeovilton FAA Museum as you see they are more a 2 grey scheme extra dark sea grey and dark slate grey at least on the Sea Hurricanes and I believe it was a pretty standard finish for FAA aircraft. If you continue your Googling I'm sure you will find information much more helpful than mine
The Yeovilton Albacore is actually one that served on Victorious.
Sorry I'm not more help.

I didn't want to have all the same number aircraft in the squadron so I left the art work devoid of the numbers and then adden them afterward. This way I only had to draw the aircraft once.
