That is looking nice, but I was thinking about longer smoke clouds like this;

See the topic here HMHS Britannic conversion 1:1200

Perhaps using larger q-tips will create larger clouds..

Hey there Jerry. This might me a slight over the top approach to your smoke from the stacks - BUT, i will give it...... Have you considered smoke generators used in model locomotives ? You would need the area to be fire proof with paper being involved - BUT this is do-able. Imagine the surprise on peoples faces if you did this. You could even record some sound fx, and have some small speakers. You would need a raised plinth for all this, BUT you would have one hell of a display my friend. YES it's over the top.... BUT.....

Well that would indeed be a nice addition to the model, but if they are going to be with the large Titanic in a diorama in a glass case, I donīt think itīs going to work..

And nothing is sure yet, but there are plans to put the diorama on display in an English Tearoom during 2012..

The tugs are coming on nicely. Do you have any black sheep in your family? I saw somewhere that tufts of their wool fluff out rather well to make coal smoke.

Ooops sorry Jerry. You may not know that "black sheep" is an English saying for a disreputable member of a family.

Thank you looker, well we in Holland also have the saying of ĻHet zwarte schaap in de familieĻ but this smoke was made out of white wool soaked in the glass in wich my water painting pencils were cleaned. And then laying them away to dry up, leaving the greyish tone to the ĻsmokeĻ. Perhaps using black wool can have the same effect..

Just a small update today; Using the left over wire from the Titanic I had made myself some arches to use as upperdeck supports. After painting them white I installed them on the small tug. The same will be done on the other two models.

I also picked up some 1:200 railings I will see which ones to use, the modeled ones or the printed ones..

Jerry

Thank you for your comment Peter,

The last couple of days I have been working on the other tugs, adding the upperdeck supports as shown above, rigged the funnels, And added the masts and other details.

Also I have created six lifeboats, and am thinking about creating the davits from wire;

The upperdeck of one of the two tugs in front did not line up with the upper hull as was intended, actually both donīt but one of them is better then the other. (the upper hul should just a view millimeters higher..) I had been thinking about making it an open tug, as is the one in the back, creating three different tugs.. Weīll see about that..

Jerry

P.s., the upperdecks of the two tugs in front have not been attached to the models yet..
