Turns out there was a casualty, I managed to lose the instruction sheets to my Trumpeter Arizona. If anyone here has this model I would appreciate a scanned set of instructions, I perused the internat and was surprised to see in all the reviews nobody had the plans shown.

This work is from last weekend, would have posted it sooner but we had to rebuild the computer from a nasty virus. I rebuilt the aft mast to add the AA platform for Oklahoma, should have seen it sooner as it was present in 1941. I used the platform from Arizona by tracing out the deck and eyeballing the rest. These pictures do not have the detail well shown so I will send another shortly.
The turrets assembled very well, I had full assembly images but all were lost to the virus. Did lose all of my earlier images to the virus along with the last 2 years worth of saved files. |

I'm shocked at the loss of your images of your work. Presumably you can recover a few from your postings here.
Nonetheless, the two ships look terrific. Don |

Real nice work!
Sorry about your problems with the computer...I feel you pain, having experienced loss of data a few times in the last few years...although I have gotten better at saving my stuff on an external drive lately. Cheers Jim |

I made some corrections to the painting scheme. I believe the trumpeter box are is off, I originally used it to locate the transition between the navy blue and the white fitting tops. I have 1 coat of paint on Arizona's tops. The entire Arizona superstructure is still unattached from the deck.
I have fabricated 4 gun tubs for the Oklahoma, also added prior to her loss at Pearl but not included in the 1938 kit version. They are not installed at the time of the pictures. |

Yes, but which is which material?
I believe the paper model is the one where the hull has a discernable framework (which looks more realistic to me, having some exsposure to real ships...)
Just looking at the main deck and above, I cannot tell...

Paper Fan has done a fantastic job with these - I'm enjoying following this build.
The Arizona is the Trumpeter 1/200 styrene kit. The Oklahoma is the 1/200 Halinski paper kit. Quick way to tell them apart is the Arizona has four triple turrets for the main armament; Oklahoma has two triple turrets and two double turrets mounted above those. |
