Gun deck added. The build has been fairly smooth with no real surprises.

Fascinating side-by-side construction Paperfan. Great work.

If you need some help on the color schemes or the false bow wave on OKL, let me know. I have tons of photo and drawing resources on these subjects. I'd be glad to lend a hand if you need it. Just PM me.

Thanks, I have the bow wave pattern for Nevada but never saw the same for Oklahoma. If Nevada's is the same I will us it. I think Oklahoma was one of the last to go to the overall dark blue-grey scheme and not seeing bow wave I assumed it did not get done.

I am upgrading Oklahoma obviously to 1941, I intend on using the gun directors from my old Arizona paper model and generating the revised deck. Also her funnel mounted search lights were moved from the funnel to the rear of the bridge.

The pattern would be the same. It seems that there is some photographic evidence that Oklahoma and Nevada both had the bow wave as late as November 1941. From lots of photos it is indisputable that Nevada had it on Dec 7, and Oklahoma remains in doubt if she still had the bow wave on the day of the attack. Some speculate she still did. Since Oklahoma rolled over, all those post-attack photos obviously fail to resolve the issue. :-)

Aft lower superstructure. The frame is built using multiple layers of paper and some balsa for laminating the decks. The inner frame is assembled and painted prior to installing the outer shell. The outer shell was wrapped one side at a time starting by lining up the opening on the port side then wrapping toward the aft. Note: the cutout is too large, I did not discover this until a wrapped onto the starboard side. Fortunately because the assembly is painted it is difficul to spot. This would have been a problem if the ship was modeled as printed.

The barbets are simple construction. I used styrene to build the rails along the outer edges.

Some slow but steady work on Oklahoma. The summer has been very nice hear so far so too much outdoor activities to model.

The lower bridge is nearing completion. I show the model before adding false locker doors and painting to give the kit design look. I am adding false locker doors to give it depth after paint. I added the small signal light platforms and used styrene to make the support poles. The rails are from Tom's, Arizona has her own supplied with the kit.
