i remember being in these whalers out in the comox harbor "pulling" them with sweeps!,.. hard to get them going but once we were cranking them they moved!,.. had to pull one all the way to tree island one time because the wind was dead,.. we camped over night in one with the sails wrapped tightly around the top of the hull for shelter,.. very very cool
