New Model
I've been working on the design for Golden Bear Models No. 3. Here is an in progress update for people to identify... all right for Greg to identify since Renaud already knows which it is. The Charlemagne is on the back burner while I try to resolve issues relating to the lack of drawings. Lots of photos, but not many drawings.
Oh, I'm aiming for a 1:250 version this time. The railings from GPM ought to show up just in time... Carl |

GB: Very nice cgi! Can't wait to see more progress on another new French predreadnought. I've had drawings of this one, I think, but have not built her. I will study your build closely for future reference.

Hi Golden Bear,
Massena turned out beautifully, well done!! I wouldn't have thought it possible to make a model of a ship with such a large tumblehome from card but you did it, and how :-) I love these ships as well, is there anywhere I can get a copy? Thanks John |

Hi John, unfortunately the Masséna is not available for distribution. It is in a pretty rough state as it is and wouldn't be much use to anyone but the designer. Have you checked out the current thread on Charlemagne? I'm considering putting some effort into making it at least minimally buildable by people who are willing to undertake significant challenge. Depending on my whim I may go back and redo Masséna at 1:250 and then try to release it also.
It is good to hear from another person with interest in these fascinating ships. Carl |
