Paris, French battleship, Modelik, 1:200
Hi friends,
after finishing the Yamato I wanted to build a model with less parts. So I turned to the Paris by Modelik. It`s a neat little, interesting ship, well detailed. For the first time in my card modeler life I used a precut laser skeleton which turned out to be a great faciliation. |

Before planking the underwater hull I attached brackets to the frames.
The sections og the hull fitted nicely. The whole hull was sealed withe pores filler, sanded and then painted with red brown Revell color. CU Hans Gerd |

Hooray! A French ship! You have fantastic taste in models, Hans! Seriously, thanks for sharing this build. I'm very interested in it.

Hi Docrox.
Te pre-Dreadnoughts and Dreadnought´s period are a little unknown era for the modellers, is time to higlight them. That´s a fine example of battleship (with interesting architecture) and I hope enjoy your job ! Saludazos. |

Looks nice, Hans, interests me to see the way you make the hull so nicely, if I ever try a ship:D

Hi
here we go on. Before placing the fist deck, some casemate guns had to be build and glued into place. I omitted the barrels, they will be attached later. |

After fitting the first deck, the after parts of the hull plating could be fixed.
Then more casemates came into place. Portholes are punched. Last edited by docrox; 04-01-2008 at 01:50 AM. |

Contrary to my method I used with other ships, before gluing the upper front deck I first applied the sides of the hull and then adjusted the deck.

Then, the rest of the hull plating could be attached. The longitudinal beam is a little bit too long, but this could be hidden with hot wax and color. The small opening between upper and lower hull was obscured with black isolation tape.
