Hi doctormax,

cool, i downloaded the model as well but i'm still hesitant to print the parts. The main reason is, that the instructions come in japanese (which i don't understand) but the scale is also a "bit too much" for my small quarters here (1:100).

As you're writing a report on this model, the problem of the japanese instructions might become less of an obstacle and i might try building U-96 as well, referring to your experience here.

Thank you in advance and "happy assembling"

Kind regards

Lars

The instructions are just a few lines below the files you downloaded #26[DasBoot u-96]??: BLOG@PAPERCRAFT ver.3
They're labeled in pages 1-34, you'll see it there.

Hope it helps

I tried google-translation but most of the results were... confusing and wrong. But that's for the german translation, maybe english works better.

I hope, in any case, the pics in the instructions are helpful. The rest will "come by instinct", as we're all modelers here

Looking forward to your experience with "Das Boot".

Good luck

I said this with no national pride intended. I would use Google Translate from Japanese, to English, then from English to German. Only because "Ich spreche Deutsche etwas", and have found that Google Translate does not work from German to Spanish (which I speak rather well),and sometimes have to do a go-around. I personally never use Uhu "words", just the pictures.

Hello all,
I also downloaded this beautiful model.
... and I wanted to build it myself! But I would have other projects.
The Japanese language is definitely a handicap!
On the other hand there is copious amount of pictures that relate to assembly step by step of the model.
It is known that a picture is worth a thousand words.

To all, Good Construction.
Orazio

Smile

Not only is a picture worth a thousand words, it also doesn't need
any translation!
