Hello gentlemen,

And now let's start a new business; the Dora needs only a little here and there to be completed so I would like to do a little tug.
All about the design and the designer you'll find here:

Diesel Tug "Acklam Cross" 1:250 scale

So I started today with the framework; all parts doubled cardboard 160 g/sqm. including the deck.
I like to work without any tabs to get a smooth contour. The hull covering fits perfect! Only at the stern I would give at port and starbord 0.25 mm length reserve ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Hello gentlemen,

tonight I spend a little time to complete the hull of the tug. At the bulwark I interfear a little bit in the design of Avery; I add supporters for the bulwark and a handrail obove the bulwark. I hope, it's ok for him?! It was real fun to build this construction till now!
And Michael, it's always a pleasure to have a qualified shipbuilder like you in the audience ..

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Very nice work, Wilfried!

Always a pleasure to see your builds, and we love Avery's tugboat design.

You are doing his work very proud! I look forward to seeing more as you progress. As always, your photography is wonderful and an added treat to the build thread.

Cheers!
Jim

Wilfried, I am glad you took the liberty of adding the bulwark supports. I am still debating whether or not to include them in the final release. Beautiful work as always, and thank you for doing this build and report!

They do add so much character to the bulwarks, don't they Avery?

Not sure how much work is involved but if I had a vote I would respectfully suggest you try to include them in the final release.

Beautiful design, and wonderful build!

Cheers!
Jim

Thanks for the input, they are not much work at all, I just wasn't sure about the level of detail and fiddly-ness desired by most builders. But I think I shall include them.

the difference between a shipmodel and a good shipmodel - as noticed above! If you add the bulwark supporters you can every simple shipmodel pamper into an acceptable...

So, today I draw a little framework for the first parts of the superstructure? and added with L-tabs as usual on all our models of my publishing house.
I think, a solid framework is always the half of the rental?!
I doubled the bulkheads and opened the bulleyes. The attached pictures shows the steps ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Beautiful-this is why I am so delighted to have you building my model. You are showing me, as a designer, how to take my humble design and turn it into something exceptional.
