Great job so far! Straight, flat and true. I've always been a bit intimidated by ship models. I've bought a few, but never started any of them. So many darned pieces, ya know what I mean?

I do have to be honest though. I am (almost) following Mainpirat's build-thread on the Kartonist.de forum to the T. He built the regular grey version. The German language is a bit daunting, but I can handle it (with a translator...).

On my build, i just fitted part 35, the first hull parts. I backed the portholes with plastic. I really need to get a hole punch with sub 1.5mm bits though... A small drill isn't as good, nor is cutting the hole with a blade... I do have to upload more pictures, so more information later!

Make that a little later. Here are the pictures.

And the bow hull parts are completed and fitted. All port holes have been drilled out and glazed (all 142[ish] of them!). I had a small gap left at the bow, but i fixed that with some enamel paint in roughly the same colour. I even managed to get the hull to 'flare' a bit. There is a rather nasty bump visible, but I think it is caused by the connection tab between the two deck parts.

On to the midship parts and the armor belt!

I mangled together the hull. One top-tip for anyone who wants to build it, reinforce the double/triple tabs on the bottom strips. makes for a far more rigid ship. I didn't do that though...

Armor belts are up next!

Marvelous work on the hull, Legion!

Very nice, clean and crisp work, coming along quite well.

Cheers!

I would try design the bow in one piece instead of two half, that is very unsightly to look at from the front. Other then that, the build looking great!
