Some paint job will be necessary and I have tried silver which looks nice.

BTW, the wires on the cranes in the first three pic are genuine human hair, thanks to my better half.

The rail making technique looks hauntingly familiar to me...

I love the idea of using human hair for the crane falls, they look great...you are very lucky to have such unselfish support from your better half!

Cheers!

Ah, the seaplanes, AR196. Made two so far, one made from varnished paper while the other normal high quality printing paper, not laminated. Should have done more research when building the first one as I mistook the rear machine gun as antenna and sank the rear of the canopy in the fuselage. The plane at the top in Pic 3 is the first. The second one, down there in Pic 3, is a lot better and more accurate than the first. Guess I will have to build a third to replace the first. Don't look too good than the 1/200 but remember the scale here, 1/588.

Wow, PM, that is amazing work!

I can't imagine how difficult it was to work on the struts under the fuselage and to get them to all align up correctly...not to mention making the props.

Wonderful build!

Cheers!

Thanks Jim, it sure did take a lot of patience and some techniques to do that. To me, steady hands are most important. Right now, I'm trying out some other finer polyester lines to do the railings. Human hairs proved to be unsuitable for this purpose. As regards props, I just can't stand that they don't spin, either blow-spin or hand-spin, I'll make them spin.

Here's the latest update. The hull and deck have been completed. Still working on the railings. Before that, the superstructures will have to wait.

More on the superstructures. Finally finished all the railings with new materials but they are not shown here.

It's time to put things together. The railings are polyester thread stiffened by CA.
