Wow, that really came out very well...nice detailed work and with very effective use of additional minute details such as the railings make this an outstanding build! You should be very proud of how this came out!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey with all of us, it was quite enjoyable and instructive...I for one will be referring to your build thread when I try to tackle this model myself and if it comes out half as nice as yours I will be very pleased. Cheers! Jim |

Close-ups
Thanks Jim, I'm over-flattered. If I ever build another ship again, possibly the Zara, I'll try to do better with the railings. And the Close Ups are now ready.

Congratulations, great job especially since this is your first job on a ship. And cabbage is really a scale unattainable

I have mentioned on various threads about the problem of storage that I face when building papermodels. As regards the Scharnhorst, here is its final resting place - in a clear box on an eternal motion mode. In this way, it is good for display, carrying-around and most important of all - storage and away from dust. I wonder how you guys store yours?

Way cool!
You did a superb job, and the sea base is the icing on the cake! I normally put my models on a seabase as well, and then they are encased in an acrylic case, to keep them from getting dusty, damaged and wet...works out really well for me. I've had some models left out of cases but they invaribly get dinged and damaged one way or another, which can be rather disappointing after all that work. Cheers! Jim |

To make it more interesting, I have made a diorama with the Scharnhorst by adding micro planes at 1/588 depicting an imminent WW2 air battle between the British planes (Hawkers Tempest, Hurricane and Spitfire) and the German ones (AR196, Me109 and Fw190). Details of the micro planes are on the proper thread Aviation.
