Sharnhost at 1/588 by Zioprudenzio

Zio's Sharnhost is originally at 1/400 but after printing two pages on each sheet of A4, the printout is worked out at 68% of the original and thus the scale arrives at 1/588. This is my first attempt to build in this category and thus sidetracked from my 1/200 planes. And I'm really really taking my time, no hurry, just enjoy the process of building it small - again storage problem.

I also discover that after painting liberally a layer of varnish at the back of the 80 gsm printing white paper to avoid a glossy or reflective surface, the paper becomes plastic like. It is more malleable and soil-proof. If excessive PVA glue dries on the treated surface, the glue can be scraped off real easy.

Here are some of the hull pic. I haven't really finished all of the hull and will not be presenting this in the ZIO Contest anyway as the deadline comes too soon.

More pics to come if you like them.

Maybe I'll change the order of building a ship model. I go for the smaller items to be built to see if they are buildable at such small scale. I'll start with the life boats and racks.

Hi Marco, it sure is. To be more crazier, I have printed the same ship with 4 pages on 1 A4 paper to see how small it goes. It is really minute and is quite unlikely be built.

Progress is as slow as snail because of other commitments. But anyway, here are updates of some of the easier to build superstructure.

Thanks again, Marco. Yeah, I'm going nuts especially with the current economic turmoil. Other than paper modelling, what's there to shy from the prevalent financial disaster?

So very nice and small!

This is a nice start, very good and clean work at a micro scale...looking forward to more!

Cheers!

Thanks guys. There'll be more for sure and I'm working on the gun turrets. There're so many of them and I have no idea that there're so much repetitive work in building ships. So, patience and patience......
