If you design it 1/20, I might design a seaplane for it...if it had any seaplanes. I've wanted to build a large scale boat so I could actually build it. Microscopic details are beyond my skill level.

That will be a nice build! The only setback of a large scale is that it needs EVERY detail.

I am going to try and make it as delivered, the recipient can add all the "Doo-Dads. The basic ship should all be there. This ship is amazing. it should not have been scrapped, it should have been put up on shore and been a service center for ANY remote area, for any thing!

here is some pictures of the Simon Lake. Murphyaa the ship did have a heilo pad on the stern but its up to Zathros what he wants on it is OK with me. The third picture shows the cranes putting nuclear missiles into the subs and the last picture is the kind of gun mount the ship had. One on each side of the stack.

Anything with Helicopters has to have them!! I worked at Sikorsky's for almost 10 years!

Some update on the Hull, getting closer to lines I can live with. I will soon divide the hull lines to see how I can best do it. I was thinking of a waterline option.

What kind of heli's did she carry? I'll see if I can have one ready to land aboard when she launches.

she could have had the Bell UH-1D Iroquois or the CH-47 Chinook while my dad was on board. Also maybe after that the Sikorsky SH-60/MH-60 Sea hawk but my Dad doesn't remember any helis landing on the ship while on board. But still it would be cool having one on the fan tail.

That ship was so huge, anything could have landed on it, and if you were in in the mid, or front section, you would never know!! I wonder if that ship could have fired any of those ballistic missiles, I'm sure the official answer is "No", but, I still wonder. I bet they could, in a pinch.

my Dad said that it could. He also said that she carried enough of them to wipe a small country off the face of the earth. Also when my dad was in kings bay georgia the scuttlebutt was that their was enough nuclear missiles to make the whole state of Florida go into the ocean. of course that was just a rumor. maybe.
