Uss simon lake as-33

This thread is the beginning of the USS Simon Lake. Jr., a fellow member of this forum, had started this model, but there was not sufficient reference material to continue with that interpretation. I have decided to start over, having obtained accurate blueprints for the ship. Jr. ill still be involved with the project. The final outcome of this is yet unknown. I am hoping to get Jr. a model, that is the main goal. As for everyone else, we will have to wait and see. I hope someone finds this interesting. The arrangements of the Blueprints was such that it took a couple of Hours. in Photoshop just to divvy them up! :)http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...1&d=1317127873

This project is on the front burner. My stove has 3 front burners, only one works!, Hehehe. I have decided to make this ship BIG. Not too sure how big, I'm, thinking 1/20th scale, the ship should then be 32.2 inches long. Allows for a lot of detail. Timothy (Jr.) is definitely helping on this. It should be interesting, and it will be good having someone young to motivate me. :)

I like to go big Wilfried. I think it is easier to downscale and leave bits out, rather that go up and have to add details. 32.2" inches isn't all that big!:)

yeah I think my Dad will have enough room for it just let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
