Beautiful build, Marco. Interesting subject combined with that monster (Emily?) flying boat on its back.

This is a great model, Marco, and I am pleased to see it completed. You and Ted make a great team, reminiscent of Mike Mash and Carl (Golden Bear).

For those surprised to see the Kawanishi H8K Taitei (Emily) on board, the U.S. and Japanese seaplane tenders were designed to service flying boats and the larger ones, like Akitsushima and the U.S. Curtiss class had the capability to hoist them on board for more extensive maintenance.

This video has a short scene of a Martin PBM being hoisted aboard a Curtiss class tender: Martin PBM-5 aircraft. Picture Collection - YouTube

And these images show a couple of PBMs on deck and a P5M being hoisted aboard USS Pine Island (some will remember the plastic kit of Pine Island with a PBM to be placed on the deck). http://www.navsource.org/archives/09/41/4112.htm

I sure do enjoy your builds, Marco, and I always find the discussion that takes place and the comments by experienced builders like Mike and Ted to be interesting and informative.

Don
