X3K Trimaran: Stealth Fast Patrol 1/700
Hi all,
My latest attempt to build a 1/700 X3K Trimaran: Stealth Fast Patrol. As far as the information around, the boats are being built. This 130ton, build of carbon-fibre composite material, and has 194feet long. information can be found here: Photo: North Sea X3K trimaran - Indonesian Hot Rod Lundin X3K Trimaran | Angkasa Readers Community Currently this model need some adjustment in several parts. I've build this a little longer then the supposed to be 1/700 scale. At the end it will be adjusted. |

Have you seen this? It's called the GHOST and carries a massive amount of firepower. Made by Juliet Marine Systems, Inc.

thanks for the additional pic, Zathros.
Any one open for discussing the possible length of this craft? Assuming the width of the craft itself (excluding the 'fin' connected to the tubular propulsion system) is 5.4 meters, roughly 18feet - the length of 3 person lay head to toe ? |

Seeing your obvious interest, hear's an article ( Prototype GHOST military watercraft claims a world's first | Technology ) with large color pictures including the cockpit panel (what...they're building an interior!) and a dry-dock shot which shows the underwater parts that create the super-cavitation drive. I have not seen anything about dimensions other than it had a three-man crew. That made me think thirty feet or so. It does say the a larger version around 150 feet was under discussion. I had not seen the artist's conception of the Ghost in combat that Zathros submitted; that makes me think the underwater pods may be thirty and the above water portion somewhat shorter.

Thanks for the link Twinslet. I'll start with the length of the underwater pods to be 30 feet, and currently the front view is the best reference we've got.
Assuming the width for the cabin, around 5.4m, that gave the overall width, around 17.84m (the picture is 1:100 scale). Is this number making sense? Last edited by zeawolves77; 03-13-2012 at 09:11 AM. |

Looking good. 1/700 is my favorite scale, but at least part of that is because I'm running out of room for bigger scale stuff.

I feel kind of bad, I hope I did not derail anything you were planing. I would really like to see this modeled though.
