Thanks a lot, my friends, for your comments,
Sorry I´m not answering oftener, the reason is I´m working on the ship only through late evening and in the night ( like today) So, through the night modeling I did the rest of tops and glued gunport lids It looks much more like battleship now And her is me and the ship - now you can see the greatness By the way, I made some deadeyes and blocks also - i think it will be enough for one more or two ships too... I did around 1000.. Jan |

Jan,
La Couronne is stunning! Looking at your gun ports I see that each one is framed on the inside. Is that something that was done on the real ship? It makes sense as a type of stop. She is a really large model when seen next to a person. You need to tell us how you do your photography. Mine are always either washed out or blurry or the colors are not true. 1000 deadeyes/blocks? You need to sleep my friend Ron

Hello Jan,
This work continues to provide inspiration. I didn't realize how big the model was until that last image with you in the backround. Mike |

Thanks a lot, my friends!
Ron: here are deadeyes and blocks: and about photos: I´ve seen you´re using flesh, and taking photos immediately during working progress. I´ve never used flesh, photos are unrealistic then, I´m just using night setting on the camera ( because I´m still taking photos in the night). Don´t take photos on the working table, take a little while and take photos on the clear table, the best is in front of the clear white wall - I´m taking them in the corner in my kitchen under the simply neon lights. It give a lot of the quality. That´s all Here are photos I tried to take by digital camera ( finally ) I think they are much more better. Mike: You all are my inspiration too Rick: Where you were, my friend? I´m very happy you´re here again And here is the captain of the ship Jan |

I took a turn back to wood and am still building in wood, but the fire for card has flamed up since I started again on the French Lugger. I hope to finish this up and after that start a full card build of another French Warship........Dunkerque.
As always your build is museum quality. Rick

Hello friends.
I had to improve some details because of technical and historical facts. One of them is about fixing deadeyes to the top - I haven´t found information about fixing deadeyes inside of the top - all of them are about fixing it on the railing, so I did it by this way. The next one - fixing of the top on the bowsprit - in the plan it is made absolutely wrong: It shoul be made by this way - the first picture is VASA - I did the same on the model ( next two pics ) I have also iron fittings made - I´ve had to to totally improvise there There is a lot of mistakes in plans. Here are a few photos at the end: Jan |

Hi there!
Your model is a feast for the eyes, Jan! How did you do the chain plates (iron fitting)? Card? Did you paint them (metallic color)? Anyway, nice job (improvising) there!! Rgds, Radek

Hello Jan,
Outstanding work. The decorations are exquisite. May I ask . . . . are you from the Czech Republic? I wondered, because there seems to be so much great work comming from there. Regards, Mike |
