Thanks friends for your comments.
About the self adhesive foil.... as I said, Iīm using the same ty pe as Doris BTW, Doris wrote this in her VICTORY thread: "I donīt know whether is possible to buy self-adhesive foils with wooden look in the US, but here are some web pages with these products:" DC Fix Contact Paper http://www.berlinwallpaper.com/dcfix/Woodgrain.htm I could you find out the producer or the trademark of foils Iīm usin personally, but Iīm sure it woulkd say nothing to you there in US. They look exactly as on Radekīs photo. But letīs back to the model I made gratings finally First I tried to make them by juerg method from modelshipworld forum, but unsuccesfull - maybe Iīm using different type of cartoon, so I tried to do it by this way And gratings were born. Holes are 1x1 mm. Here they are. Jan |

Man! They look sooo good!
I tried the first method, too. But it did not work out for me neither. the card is just not like wood and does not want to stay together, but falls apart, when I try to cut it. So did you used wood finally? I cant see it from the pictures. But anyway, amazing work! Much much better then my ones! Keep it on, Jan! Rgds, Radek

Hello Jan,
Superb. I like the way the stern decks arc upward, one on top of the other. The designs of this era are wonderful. Mike |

Thanks a lot, my friends,
Iīm glad youīre enjoing the progress I stopped the work on the ship because of deadlock ( the shape of the bow and bottom of the stern galleries ) But I havenīt a rest, just doing something different ( ) Iīm still working on several ships together ( This one is Magellanīs Trinidad ). I found out the solution finally; I made the shape of galion based on historical pictures - Iīve never seen the solution made by Corel or Mantua / Lusci etc. on ANY picture of French or Dutch ships from the first half of 17 th century: but I improve it by this way ( as mentioned - see my contribution from 19.11.2011 ) - I add sides. I will add handrails too ( later ). The bottom of the aft gallery also - solution, as you can see on pictures bellow probably isnīt real ( Iīve never seen it on any picture or model - Just on La Couronne) You can see differents of the stern on both photos; In this ship case the solutions of details depends on producerīs fantasy and the taste of builder. So I also offer my solutions Galleries will be supported along the bottom and Iīll add consoles also.( I made just the construction - today Iīll close the bottom as the upper part ) ...and some more looks at the ship As you can see, Iīm slightly changing the ship by my conclusions and researchs. Maybe you wonīt agree with me - if you have any ideas, let me know Jan |
