Good excuse to build a bigger and better collection. All the best for the recovery efforts.

SD 14 cargo ship

Hello,

If you really want to restart: I know someone in Holland who will sell the complete SD14 set for approximately € 275,== plus postage from Holland.
If you want I can contact him.

Regards,

Thanks, Gert, but I have to wait until I am back into the house, which is going to be a few weeks while we do the necessary repairs...till then, no sense in getting anything I have no place to store safely...

Cheers!
Jim

I have been neglectful in keeping this post up-to-date and since the designer has died earlier this year I thought I'd better post an update.

The bow with some completed ventilators the core for the mast some bits and fairleads.

Bit of a fuzzy photograph but the only one I have the chain locker.

Better picture the top of the chain locker.

The chain locker fully in place on the forecastle.

The completed fore mast.

Mast and ventilators that'll be inside the forward deck house and completed deck fittings on the forecastle.

Number one hold Hatch combing sides dry fitted they needed a bit of trimming to fit nicely.

Completed Hatch combing and hatch cover stowing rails.

Completed Hatch covers.

With the completion of the mast I had to raise my so called Shipshed dust covers.

The completed hole before painting was a corrugated cardboard cut to fit the Hatch openings to mask of the holds.

Not very clear be just make out in this picture pencil marks the different colours of hull painting.

The model does look eerily like a real ship. But then, your tank model looks like a real tank.

David,

Great looking model of the SD. Mine is still sitting in the six boxes waiting for that rainy day.
