Thanks guys! @Brian - I have that dilemma too. I have stuff that would suit in a diorama presenting 1950-1965 era and the I have modern stuff. I'll propably end up doing both. @B-Manic - now there's a funny skiff! Wouldn't be that hard to scratchbuild either. Someone should do it.

Thanks Pat. With these small models one always finds somethings to improve after looking the finished product. Thank God for digital models, I can always print a new one and do it all over again. Like Don, I might have my own model as an inspiration for a re-build. ;-)

Like I predicted I ended up building the kit all over again. Some corrections I made compared to the previous build:

1. Deck should be flush with the sides (the suggested 2mm lamination for the deck part is more like 3mm - measure it yourself before laminating).
2. I rolled the bollards and the towbit parts from thin cigarette-paper and those are now more even, not so bulky and perhaps true to scale too.
3. I printed two sets of parts and I cut the bollard base plates and the wooden work-area crating off the second deck and glued them onto the final deck.

This is a fun little model to work with and the second round is easier. Now I'm figuring out should I work the 3D effect even further and do all the pipings (now those are printed on the whelhouse walls and on the equipment locker in front of that). Let's see - first I have to take care of a cut I managed to get on my finger. :-)

More to come,

Tappi

Ok, the second one is done. Where did the effort took me? Pretty much to the point that now I have a pair. :D
New one is on the left - I guess the future harbour has space for both of them.

Testbuilding PaperShipwright quay model. I think I use it in my modern harbour. I laminated the parts on a too thick cardboard (the only type I have at the moment) and building the wooden structures is a bit tidious. Here it is with the workboats.

Hello Tappi,

most of the modern quaysides are made of concrete ... the quaysides we're both prefer are the old ones ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Thanks Wilfried, let's call this an old one too. I finished the quay and post pictures sometime tomorrow.

That's a great little diorama. I see that on your second Delta Workboat you laminated the deck hatches and fittings. I have been planning to do this on my second workboat, as well.
