Snag Barge 1861
I got this model to beta build from Corey last week.
Immediately came down with a never-get-over cold that has had me abed until today. I decided to build it full-hull to test the fit although I have never had any problems with his ships. I started by gluing the bulkheads to scrap cardboard, cutting them out and gluing them. While waiting for the glue to dry I usually cut out and build the smaller bits such as the bunkhouse table shown here. I use strips in my builds both for ease in making joints and reenforcement of the part. I'll continue tomorrow. Lep

Lepercan I hope you are feeling better. By family went through the whole winters first cold thing a few weeks ago. First one kid, then the next. Then me then my wife. nasty stuff.
Anyhow, I hope the kit works out for you. CT

Back again.
The hull went together well after I stopped trying to make it hard in my head The cook stove with a hand rolled smokestack I printed the walls again on 20# bond so the inside would match the outside. I put the first of the overhead beams in place on each end wall. The roof, which can be lifted off to expose the interior, got the rest of the support beams both to shape it and to hold it in place when inserted into the cabin. I then began on the boat, which I modified seriously. I again reprinted the hull on 20# and made the hull two sided. I then trimmed the gunwale so that the seats sit further into the hull; a more natural look. I also trimmed and placed the foot boards into the bottom of the hull. Will finish the bunkhouse and start on the derrick tomorrow.

Awesome work. I will add the reprints on another page for those who want to print on 20 pound paper for a better interior. I like that.

I like the texturing on this kit. It makes the boat look like a true working vessel.
