I really love this entry from Wikipedia:

Speed:

Designed: 24 kn (28 mph; 44 km/h)

Achieved: 28.7 kn (53.2 km/h; 33.0 mph)
Thanks Lou although their are quite a few flaws I'm glad how well it's turning out.
It is so amazing what you can do when you determined to do it. Such as the men of taffy 3 and other brave men of all wars did.

Cool The Twenty Milimeter Oerlikon

This is just a trial build , but it is a good example of what I plan to do. I'll also be making a few changes to it. Hope you all like it.

next is the Twin 40mm Bofors mount.

Excellent 20mm gun! And a gunner to go with it...that is why I build smaller...I could never do a figure like that.

Personally, I cheat on figures. I get architectural white plastic model figures off eBay for a couple of bucks. Using my Dremel tool I can modify them to some extent.

Painting them for navy use is easy.

You have to wash them clean first.

For the all white uniform, paint the entire figure white, and add a tiny dash of a skin color in the face, maybe the hands and a tiny dab black hair (under the white hat) and black shoes (except for officers who wear white shoes too.)

The US Navy dungaree uniform is harder because the pants are dark blue, the shirt is light blue and usually they aren't wearing a hat. BTW - the US Navy's custom is that at sea, only watch standers wear hats. I'll bet most other navies are the same way, although I don't know for sure.

I'm working on SMS Emden (Pre-WW1) right now, and plan to have everyone in whites.

The biggest hassle is finding the right scale since sometimes the eBay listings are wrong. It's hard to justify complaining to a Chinese company when I only paid $5 for the entire package of 300 coming from the mainland (including shipping.)
