Well I've got a lot done. But I'm sorry that I didn't take pictures of the hull building. The length is 28 1/4 inches which is just about 1/130 scale. Just right to put plenty of detail on it.

P.S. I messed up on the bow where the anchor is stored but got it fixed.

Here is what I've been working on these past few days. He is about a half inch tall! I'm planing on having them running in and out of hatches manning the guns and maybe doing a few other things.

That is some great work, and I love the way the sailor came out...quite impressive detail!

This is going to be a great model, with loads of interesting little details.

Cheers!
Jim

WOW! That is *my* Sammy B, JR?? You, Sir, are an ARTIST.

Did the parts fit/match OK in the larger scale? (I try to do my plans down to .01" The DE vet who made the huge one out of manila folders (photos on my LCoat webpage) said they fit OK, but ...?)

Butler/Sammy B will be in my book of plans too, but it will remain FREE on my Lou Coatney: Home Page webpage permanently, and that doesn't have to be re-funded every year like my www.CoatneyHistory.com webpage (which has the Norwegian coastal destroyer Sleipner ... for another year at a time) does.

Having the hull, I should do the 3" gun Buckleys sometime. Helena was easy (after I found a key photo of the bridge) after the Brooklyns and H class leader Hardy (of Narvik fame) was easy after the H class themselves.

Seeing my plans constructed REALLY motivates my designing.

Thank you, JR ... and everyone here.

Thank you all for your support on the model.
Lou. The parts fit fairly well but because of such a difference in scale it needed to be refitted a little
Also those other ship Ideas sound good. Looking forward to doing those as well.
I do not know if the pilot house helm is accurate (it is modeled from the helm of a Sumner class destroyer from NavSource Destroyer Sumner Class Interior Photographs) but I think it will make it that much better.
I kind of had an Idea of using red christmas lights and attaching a battery to them so that one can see inside the pilot house better. What do you all think?
