DKM Bismarck - semi-scratch build

Hi guys! I've been working on this mighty battleship for 3 days and here's the progress of it :

By the way, if you're asking about the model, I have no idea if it is a Maly Modelarz or a GPM one, because a friend gave it to me for a christmas present, and I thought it would be rude to ask ps. - the picture quality is rubbish, i used my phone, which was the only thing in handy, and my dad's camera's battery was flat

Everything up 'till now was fine, but it suddenly struck me - as you can see, I've tried a couple of scratch-made hull plates, but they are going to be too soft for painting. I'm confused - should I do a double layer of these plates, or use paper-mache for the whole hull?

Thanks for any tips given
Oh, and belated Happy New Year to everyone!

Kris,

Try a coat or two of clear lacquer or model airplane dope. They are very fast drying celluiloid base product that will stiffen the paper. Acetone solvent is very strong odor - may need to paint outside.

George,

Thanks for the reply. I'll try one of those two in these couple of days and I'll see how it goes.
