USS Marietta 1865 Union River Squadron
This Corey's Marietta after I got done adding greebles, nurnies, and pasties.
1/250. Everything's paper but the masts and rigging poles. Enjoy, Lep

Cool. I love the deck on the fan tail and the out houses. I think they are very likely additions on the real ship should it have been launched during the war. As is the awning set up.
Thanks!

Way cool! Very nicely done.
I thought those small huts looked a bit like exterior latrines, but I was not sure...they're not part of the kit, Corey? Cheers! Jim |

No, I put latrines on the CSS NC but nothing else yet. They are a likey item the crew would have set up though.

Yup, forward for enlisted; aft for officers. I looked at the pic of the Ozark for inspiration.

I would think Windward would be for the officers. Leeward for the enlisted men.

For those of you who have a program, this would be No. 43 in the CT navy. Great looking add ons and fiddly stuff.

The Ozark is a great example. It is amazing how many add-ons the crews build on these river monsters to make them more livable. The Gun quickly become secondary to the cabins, awnings and other deck clutter.
This one is on my CD, but it is also available in the free downloads here at Paper Modelers as well. CT

Are you gentlemen referring to the USS Ozark?
This photo from wiki shows a lot of deck clutter, something not normally seen on ships of war from what I have seen, but obviously a number of the items were deemed to be necessary for the comfort for the crew. |

That's the pic. I understand that Marietta and her sister ship were patterned after the Ozark
